TempoCap Launches New Indices on European VC-Backed Tech Exits
At TempoCap, we’ve been tracking major exits for European VC-backed tech companies, and today we’re excited to unveil three new indices:
- All Cash Acquisitions
- Cash and Stock Acquisitions
- Public Listings
Our initial analysis highlights several key trends:
- All Cash Exits: Only five exits above $1 billion over nearly five years. The U.K. leads with six of the top 15, followed by Germany, France, and Scandinavia. Most buyers (60%) were U.S. companies, with an average exit time of ten years.
- Cash and Shares Exits: Similar scarcity with only four exits above $1 billion. The U.K. also leads here, with notable contributions from Poland and Germany. Again, 60% of buyers were U.S. companies, with an average exit time of nine years.
- Public Listings: All 15 IPOs were above $1 billion, though some fell below post-IPO. The U.K. accounts for nearly half, with the largest from Romania. The average time to IPO was 11 years.
